Current Performances
The best way to love us is to know us. Many of our current projects involve improv performance showcases and restaurant-based murder mysteries. To date, we have 8 performances scheduled for 2023, and we add to that number every week.
Performances take about eight weeks to successfully plan and cultivate an audience for performance.

Introducing Carlson Acting and Performance Services (a.k.a. Caps)
Acting Training for Professional Theater
Who we are
How to Schedule
Current classes
Carlson Acting & Performance Services, LLC (CAPS) is a multi-generational company. It was formalized under CAPS and began its current configuration in July 2017 with a improvisational acting workshop.
Since then, we have expanded to include a full barrage of training so that actors seeking professional experiences may have a way to become employed as a professional performer. We also believe IMPROV is good for everyone. Often students have no experience and take classes to get more comfortable speaking on their feet.
Our purpose is strengthen community and families through theater education
A list of classes and workshops include:
CAPS schedules lessons and workshops throughout the year. For up-to-date class schedules, please follow our CAPS Facebook Page and the Class Calendar.
One of the best ways to know where you want to go with your training is to take a drop-in class. The instructor will conduct free consultations after the drop-in class. Cameron's students have received recognition in competitive workshops, earned roles in community and professional productions, and prepare students for auditions including scholarships.

Current classes are scheduled on Mondays and Saturdays. Classes are delivered at Yellow Brick in Atchison.
At present, students may participate in 3 courses, labeled by colors of our logo. Green and Brown classes are 4 weeks in length. Paying for all 4 classes in advance saves the participant. Green is short-form improv and games; Brown is space object (pantomime) and monologue development.
Gold is long-form and incorporates Green and Brown. Gold is a slightly longer class and students will perform with an audience at the conclusion of the Gold class.
Not sure where to start? Try our Saturday morning drop-in class. Cameron will explain the details. Drop-in classes allow you to reinforce some basic improv principals (Yes, And and Rule of 3). Many people take both Monday and Saturday classes.
